Compress Images

Make JPG, PNG and WEBP files smaller while keeping them sharp. Set the quality yourself and compress many images at once. Free, and your images are never uploaded.

From Photos, Files or Google Drive

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1Choose the JPG, PNG or WEBP images you want to make smaller (several at once is fine).
  2. 2Set the quality with the slider: lower means smaller files. You can also shrink the dimensions for even smaller files.
  3. 3Compress, see how much each image shrank, and download.

Frequently asked questions

Will compressing make my photos blurry?

At 70–80% quality most photos look practically identical to the original while the file gets 50–80% smaller. Below about 50% you may start to see blocky artifacts, especially in skies and flat colors.

Why doesn’t my PNG get smaller?

PNG is lossless, so re-compressing it rarely helps. Convert photos to JPG, use WEBP if you need to keep transparency, or reduce the image dimensions.

What if a compressed image comes out bigger?

You never get a bigger file. If an image doesn’t shrink, we keep the original and say so in the results list.

I need an image under a specific size, like 100KB. What should I use?

Use our “Resize image to KB” tool. It finds the right quality and dimensions automatically so the file fits under your limit, which is ideal for application forms.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Compression happens entirely in your browser, and GPS location data is removed from the new files.
